The Great Importance Of Exercise For Kids In Current Times

If we have learned anything over the past 2 ½ years, it is that our children are more vulnerable than ever to viruses and although they are quite young and they are quite strong, their immune systems are not quite ready to be able to take care of them in full just yet. Many children nowadays are incredibly unfit because we live in a very digital world and so these kids are walking around with smartphones and video game consoles in their hands and they are not getting the recommended daily amount of exercise that every kid needs. Parents and grandparents when they were younger, were much more active and each day consisted of climbing a tree or exploring the countryside.

Modern children live in a very different world and because parents are so protective of them when it comes to their safety, they don’t let them roam around the neighborhood. Kids need to be active and so you need to get them enrolled in an after-school program for kids so that they can not only increase their physical fitness but they can also learn to be more sociable as well. Kids don’t spend enough time with their peers and so when they get older and become adults, they are socially awkward and this does not help them when trying to find a job. If you are a parent and you would like to learn more about the benefits of exercise for your children then please read the following.

  • It’s great for the immune system – We need our kids to be as strong as they can be and we definitely do not want to be taken to the doctor so that he or she may prescribe antibiotics. Any medicines that your children are taking now in their early years will go on to affect them later in life and many kids are becoming antibiotic resistant which won’t keep them completely safe during these pandemic times. With a strong immune system due to more physical activity, your kids are able to fight off even the strongest of viruses and they come out the other side smiling.
  • Better social skills – It’s always best to encourage your kids to take part in team activities because it is providing them with the exercise that they need every single day to make them fit and strong, but also equips them with the necessary social skills that they need to make new friends and to be able to fit in.
  • It’s good for the heart – The secret for any kid to grow up strong is to have a healthy heart and lungs to propel them forward in competitive activities like school sports day. Many people tell you that it is only about the taking part and that is all that is important, but we all know that this is not the real world operates.

If you find that your child is living a very sedentary lifestyle and they just come straight from school into the bedroom to play videogames, then maybe you need to start introducing some more physical activity into their daily lives.
